Leading Hungarian grocery Retailer deploys ZBD's epaper solution

CBA, one of Hungary's largest retailers, has announced that it has implemented ZBD's epaper solution in its Mogyoród store, near Budapest. Working in partnership with Laurel, its VISION partner in Hungary, ZBD's epaper displays have been deployed storewide.

CBA is Hungary's 2nd largest retailer with an estate of 3300 stores, primarily made up of convenience stores and 600 supermarkets, all operating under a co-operative-like business model with a proportion of stores centrally owned. The majority of CBA's outlets use paper labels to display product and pricing information, but these have proved to be a challenge with constant price changes and promotions that were time and resource-consuming, leading them to ZBD's electronic shelf label solution.

Commenting on the decision to select ZBD's electronic shelf labels, Dr. Andràs Malasics, General Manager for CBA said, "We realised that we needed to automate the changes that we make to our products and pricing on a daily basis. We had considered the old segment displays, but we recognised that these offered limited functionality with a high total cost of ownership. Implementing ZBD's epaper displays throughout the store will enable us to make measurable savings and improve efficiencies, and we consider this to be a long-term solution."

Simon Jones, Business Development Director, Europe at ZBD said, "CBA was looking for an innovative, future-proof labelling system and ZBD has provided the answer, with its low touch epaper solution. The CBA project marks a number of important firsts for ZBD - our first order for the new epop 50, our smallest display launched in earlier this year; our first project with our Hungarian partner, Laurel; and our first major installation in Hungary."
